Fred the Foot Biography Header

Andrew “Fred” Robinson has run the foot and ankle service at Addenbrooke’s since 1999.  He was President of the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgical Society in 2010-2011 and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (2007-2010). He has served as a trustee of the British Orthopaedic Association (2015-2017).

He has published broadly including editing two books, writing three chapters in various Oxford textbooks of Medicine. He has now published over 35 articles referenced on PubMed and has served on the Editorial Board JBJS(Br) between 2005-2008 and 2014 to the present, also serving on the Editorial of Board BJ 360 (2011- 2014). He was the deputy editor of the Journal of Trauma and Orthopaedics (2015-2017).

Over the years, he has undertaken a broad range of foot and ankle surgery and has built a national and international reputation for his foot and ankle surgical care, lecturing in Switzerland, France, China and the USA.

Fred’s clinical practice covers the full range of foot and ankle conditions and he undertakes the full range of orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery.  His practice includes surgery for sporting injuries, both arthroscopic and open, bunions, lesser toes and ankle. He also undertakes ankle replacements for ankle arthritis. He treats both trauma and orthopaedic conditions of the foot and ankle both in the National Health Service and privately.

Outside work, Fred enjoys travelling and speaks passable French, he also enjoys skiing with his wife, who was a Consultant Anaesthetist at UCH in London, and his son who is now a medical student.
